Beginner guide
Do beginners need a golf glove?
No. A glove is not a ticket onto the course. Many first rounds happen bare-handed with a calm grip and dry hands.
When a glove helps
- Blisters forming after a bucket or nine holes.
- Hot or humid days when the grip slips.
- You already own one and it feels natural.
When to wait
If you’re still testing whether golf sticks, skip the accessory aisle. Put money toward a used putter / wedge / PW first — the Sunday Bag — not branded leather.
Which hand?
Most right-handed players wear a glove on the left hand (lead hand). Lefties usually glove the right. One glove is normal; two is rare.
Fit tip
Snug across the palm, no baggy fingers. Cheap is fine for early rounds. Replace when the palm wears smooth.
Gear should shrink friction — not become another thing to get “right” before you tee off.
