Rainy day golf practice for beginners

Rain doesn’t cancel progress. It cancels the excuse that you can only improve under blue sky with a full bucket.

Safe outdoor options

  • Covered range bays — if your facility has them. Slow swings, wedges first.
  • Light drizzle, no lightning — short game on a wet practice green if the club allows. Soft conditions teach touch.
  • Skip standing water and storms. Common sense beats grind culture.

Indoor (apartment-friendly)

  • Mirror setup checks: posture, grip, alignment stick or broom on the floor.
  • Putting on a mat or carpet to a cup or glass — distance control over hole-outs.
  • Watch one short video on pace/etiquette, then close the tab. Don’t spiral into tip soup.
  • Plan your next quiet tee time while coffee’s hot.

Keep practice connected to the course

Aim rainy-day work at the shots you’ll use with a Sunday Bag on a par-3 nine — pitch, chip, putt — not endless driver fantasies. Permission to rest, too. Showing up again next week matters more than perfect attendance.
